SteerMouse supports Razer mice that are listed in Recommended mice in the top page and you can customize all buttons on the mice. For other mice that are not listed in the list, there are steps to customize some buttons with SteerMouse.

REQUIREMENTS:

• A Razer mouse with onboard memory.
• Razer driver, Synapse.

STEPS:

1. Install Synapse.
2. Assign a key to a button you want to customize in Synapse.
   0-9, -, +, = (Button 4-15) or A-Z, F1-F6 (Button 1-32)
3. Quit Synapse. (cmd + Q)
4. Launch SteerMouse, select the Buttons tab, hover the mouse cursor anywhere over the mouse illustration (it doesn’t matter what the cursor is pointing at) and press buttons on your actual mouse. You will see the associated button control and you can assign any functions to it.
5. Uninstall Synapse if the buttons don't work with SteerMouse.

If you do not see the file, please launch /Applications/Utilities/Terminal.app and enter the following command. You will see the file on Finder.

Follow these steps below to use the backup file.

1. Quit SteerMouse.
2. In Finder, replace your settings file with the backup file.
3. Open SteerMouse and click Reconfigure button on device tab.

This problem occurs in macOS Sonoma or earlier. To solve the problem, download this Apple Script file RazerTartarusV2.scpt and double-click it. macOS Sequoia or later does not have this problem.
